Redmi has been generating buzz for its upcoming Turbo 5 Max model, but this device will not be released in isolation. It will be accompanied by the standard Turbo 5 variant, which now appears to have undergone a Geekbench performance test.
This development means there is an online entry for the phone in the benchmark's database, visible in the accompanying screenshot. The Geekbench listing confirms that the Redmi Turbo 5 is equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 processor, a chipset formally announced less than a week ago. This validates a rumor from late December that accurately identified this specific chipset for the Turbo 5.
In the prototype unit—identified by the model number 2511FRT34C—the chip was coupled with 16GB of RAM. The phone is confirmed to launch running Android 16. While an official announcement date from Redmi remains unconfirmed, it is anticipated to occur before the end of this month.
